WFU Dressage Home Show VIP Tent Event Recap

In March, HKSR&R hosted parents and alumnae of the Wake Forest University Equestrian Team in a very special VIP tent for the Spring Dressage Home Horse Show at Hidden K Stables. It was a beautiful day for a horse show, and we greatly appreciate everyone who came out to support HKSR&R, as well as the WFU Equestrian Team!

Re-Homed Horses Update

We are so pleased to report that both of our re-homed horses are happy and thriving in their new homes! We asked Ace and Bets’ owners to give us an update on themselves and their horses. Erin’s journey with Ace began long before his official adoption, so we asked her to reflect on her memories with him from the very beginning. To read full stories, please visit the post at: http://www.hiddenkhorserescue.org/?p=944

Cassie Update

Cassie, our third rescue horse who came to us from Louisiana, is making great progress in her rehabilitation and retraining.  Since you last saw her, she has gained a significant amount of weight and strength, and she has been started under saddle. With her fancy movement and her sweet disposition, we know with continued training she will soon be ready to look for a forever home.

Education Building Update

Throughout the year, our Education Building has received quite the facelift!  As you can see from the picture, it is freshly painted and adorned with an eye-catching HKSR&R sign.  Thanks to generous donors, the building is filled with furniture and décor, including a desk, a table & chairs, filing cabinets, bookshelves, carpet, dry erase boards, as well as relevant educational equine materials such as books, bits and saddles.  Our wish list is very close to being fulfilled with the exception of electricity, outdoor furniture, and landscaping.  The Education Building is now ready to be a functional space for Educational Events!   Our wishlist is below - if you would like to donate any of these items, please email info@hiddenkhorserescue.org.

  • Large planters
  • Bags of potting soil for landscaping
  • Outdoor area rugs
  • Window treatments
  • Outdoor seating, i.e. bench, patio furniture, etc. for holding outdoor events
  • Electricity
